API 5L Grade B Pipe

API 5L Grade b piping generally refers to welded line pipe used to transport oil and natural gas from one location to another, and these pipelines are primarily used in oil and gas refineries, petrochemical plants, and other industries. These pipes are manufactured in two product specification grades called PSL-1 and PSL-2. PSL-1 provides the standard level of quality for line pipe.
API 5L Grade B pipe is not susceptible to cracking under sulfide stress, making it ideal for sour service. This pipe has a minimum yield strength of 245 MPa or approximately 35,500 psi. API 5L Grade B has a long working life, making it very cost-effective. b PSL-2 Grade B pipe is rigid, compact, and very dimensionally stable. Because it is readily available and affordable, API 5L Grade B pipe is the preferred choice of the oil and gas industry and is being used on a large scale in cross-country pipelines.

The purchase order shall include the quantity, PSL level, type or Grade, reference to API5L, outside diameterwall thickness, length and any applicable annexes or additional requirements related to chemicacomposition, mechanical properties, heat treatment, additional testing, manufacturing process, surfacecoatings or end finish.
